Settling into winter practice

It's been a busy fall in Vancouver, teaching Yoga for Relaxation & Yoga for Snowboarders/Skiers at the Vancouver School Board this term. What lovely students, whom I will miss while taking a break from teaching for the next 4 or 5 mths. It's a dedicated time for my own practice - curious to see how I will progress, how I will change, and what I will bring to my classes when I return to teaching in the spring!

Yoga on the Beach in July!

I have been asked to teach the Vancouver School Board's Yoga on the Beach this July.

I look forward to my own yoga on the beach in Cook Islands and New Zealand from mid-May to mid-June, which will give me inspiration to lead this 4-week series!

YOGA ON THE BEACH
Course ID: EC65095 Cost: $52.00
Start your week with rejuvenating Yoga stretches to the gentle sounds of waves & a glorious setting sun. The course will consist of an all-levels gentle hatha flow with sun salutation series & classic postures to focus on strength, flexibility & relaxation. Wear layers (bring your bathing suit for a moonlight dip if you like). Students must bring a mat & blanket. Please arrive at about 7:15 pm. If it rains, go to Ed Centre (1580 W Broadway) as class will be held indoors.

Stay tuned for a yin yoga & brunch workshop in March, as I am taking my Yin Yoga Teacher certification this month!

Yin Yoga has the same goals and objectives as any other school of yoga. The Yin aspect of Yoga uses long-held relaxed floor postures to stretch and stimulate the deep connective tissues of the body.

Fall Yoga Happenings

Fall is definitely in the air. Crisp and cool mornings, bright coloured leaves at my feet. I'm pulling out my cozy sweaters and fuzzy socks, packing away sandals and sundresses.

I'm currently substitute teaching with Yogacara Studio and Vancouver Lawn Tennis & Badminton Club this fall.

Later this month, I will teach a CHAIR-ity chair yoga class for the United Way at my work.

For now, connecting again with my own practice in the early mornings, trying to find space and balance during this busy period.
